I grew up in a rural farming community in southwestern Minnesota.  There were eleven children in my family, with me being the tenth one to be born.  My parents faithfully attended a fundamental Baptist church, bringing all of us siblings with them.  At the age of six, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior.

Upon graduation from high school in 1974, I attended avionics school in Alexandria, Minnesota.  It was while I was there that I surrendered my life to the Lord, and answered God’s call to preach.

After earning the Graduate of Theology, and Bachelor of Religious Education degrees in Bible College, I was ordained to the ministry by Dr. Lee Roberson, Pastor of the Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

I have served in pastorates in South Dakota and in North Dakota.  I have been serving as Pastor of the East Hill Baptist Church in Kent, Washington since October of 1994.     I have seen and experienced the goodness of God’s faithfulness to me, and to this church.

I was born in West Virginia.  As a child I attended a fundamental Baptist church with my family.  At the early age of five, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. 

I attended Bible College and graduated with a degree in Missionary Aviation in 1992.  After graduation, I embarked on a missions trip to Japan. It was at the end of this trip that I was asked to consider returning as a full time missionary to assist an elderly missionary couple in a camp ministry.   Several months later, I had the necessary support that I needed and returned to Japan for a short time, but I felt that I still needed more training.  With this in mind, I returned to Bible College, and attended for one more year of graduate work.

In the summer of 1995, I was called to work at Ironwood, a camp ministry in southern California.  It was while I was there, that I met my wonderful wife to be.  Ellamae and I were married in May of 1997, and finished our camp work at Ironwood in August of 1998.

We moved to Greenville, with the intention of raising the support needed to return to Japan.  It was there, while serving the Lord at Hampton Park Baptist Church, I was ordained.

With the arrival of our first child, we felt that the Lord was leading us in another direction.  We found that a national family had a desire and the ability to take over our ministry in Japan.  In 2000 we moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and became involved in a youth ministry at a local church.  During that time, I was able to serve the Lord as Youth Pastor for approximately 3 years.

In the fall of 2006, my wife and I both felt strongly that the Lord had other plans for our lives.  His direction led us to the Seattle area, where we found a wonderful, loving church in Kent, Washington. We joined East Hill Baptist Church in the early part of 2007 and started working in the children’s ministry.  While involved in this ministry, I accepted the church’s invitation to become the Associate Pastor here at E.H.B.C.  We are excited to see God’s work in this church as we press on toward the future.  Please feel free to visit us, and consider making East Hill Baptist Church your place to worship our Lord and Savior.
